Position Summary:
Responsible for planning, implementation and coordinating a life enrichment program that encourages all residents to function at their highest possible level of independence. Coordinates and schedules a Life Enrichment program to meet the needs and interests of the residents that are in compliance with existing rules and regulations. Maintains resident personal dignity, self-respect and safety at all times. Responsible for work supplies and tools to ensure that resources are used wisely. Supports and implements all safety practices. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating Life Enrichment program.
- Creates an innovative and engaging Life Enrichment program tailored to resident’s needs and preferences, staying abreast of current trends and ensuring a diverse range of activities.
- Plans and implements Life Enrichment calendar each month that includes life skills, education, and recreational programming daily. Post and distribute calendar for our residents and families.
- Collaborates with marketing team to share social media content featuring resident activities and events.
- Coordinates activities with nursing, culinary, volunteers and other groups, taking already established routines into account so the life enrichment program can fit into the facilities overall activities pattern.
- Assists to provide programming one on one to those who cannot participate in a group setting.
- Maintains activity equipment, and supplies.
- Coordinates transportation for all activities.
- Coordinates with Director of Spiritual Care to ensure full spectrum of spiritual offerings.
- Coordinates special events for residents.
- Provide dementia friendly activities in Memory Care units.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers. Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to schedule volunteers needed.
- Complete intake interviews and paperwork necessary to learn and communicate personalized activities.
- Maintain documentation of activities and resident attendance as required by regulation.
- To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
- Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
- All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
- Follows emergency procedures according to policy.
- Attends in-services and training sessions as required.
- Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels policy and procedure and as related to HIPAA.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Guardian Angels.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- AA or BA degree in Recreational Therapy or related field highly desired.
- One to three years prior supervisory experience.
- Three to five years prior experience in activities or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills.
- Self-motivated, ability to prioritize.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
