Profile Summary
As a Scientist II in the Technology Development Team, you will work collaboratively with team members and interface cross-functionally with bioinformatics, process engineering, system engineering, and other assay development teams. You will be hands-on in the lab to evaluate and optimize new assays related to liquid biopsy sequencing technologies for detecting, treating, and monitoring all cancer types. You will play a critical role in the design and implementation of our advanced cancer diagnostics product as well as future product offerings.
In the Assay Development team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with members from research, bioinformatics, process engineering, operations, and software. You will lead and analyze studies to further the development of automated molecular assays for the early detection, treatment and monitoring of all cancer types.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need. Primary Location: Palo Alto, CA Primary Location Base Pay Range: $122,600 - $168,600 Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $104,210 - $143,310 If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $110,340 - $151,740
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assess, optimize, and implement cutting-edge research and technologies in molecular oncology and diagnostics to improve assay performance
- Identify areas for improvement in current assays and propose and implement solutions
- Collaborate within Technology Development and cross-functionally with bioinformatics as well as other cross-functional teams to facilitate effective execution of product goals
- Be highly committed to deliver results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing organization Document technical evaluations and provide SOPs as needed
- Present data, proposals, and progress in various forums
- PhD degree in molecular biology, biomedical sciences, or related field with 2 years of industry work
- Experience in research, development and/or optimization of NGS technologies with strong preference for experience with cell-free nucleic acids
- Strong data analysis skills with experience with Python, R, or JMP and the experience in handling large datasets
- Detail orientated with demonstrated ability to organize, document and communicate scientific data
- Committed team player; enjoys working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to change, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to learn and apply new technologies
- Strong underlying curiosity and drive
- Sense of humor is a must
