What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Guard Buildings?
We are seeking a full time skilled Fabricator (10 years of experience) responsible for manufacturing steel structure , including beams and columns. The ideal candidate must proficiently read Structural Steel drawings and adhere to established quality standards. Competency in MIG welding and working with metal core wire is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate steel components as per specifications while ensuring the accuracy of weld placements.
- Utilize cutting torch effectively to detail components for optimal fit-up.
- Understand and work with diverse structural members, including beams, channels, and angles.
- Layout and create holes, cutouts, and notches to specified dimensions while adhering to tolerances.
- Identify and assemble necessary components from the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Plan and manage workload to ensure project timelines are met.
- Successfully pass foundational tack and fillet weld tests.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting product specifications and engineering drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills for calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Excellent general mechanical aptitude.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, up to eight hours daily.
- Regular lifting capacity of up to 80 lbs. and handling of heavy beams or columns.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms for part manipulation and operation of welding equipment.
- Capability to pass drug and criminal background screenings.
