Under the direction of the Regional Office Manager, the Closing Agent will facilitate a mortgage closing transaction for multiple parties such as: homebuyers and sellers, lenders, realtors and/or attorneys. Prepare and present detailed documents effectively closing a property and/or finance package. Record and file documents with appropriate parties and systems internally and externally. Disburse funds as required. Exceptional communication skills are essential and attention to details critical.
Prepare & Perform Mortgage Closing Transactions
- Schedule closing with parties involved in the transaction
- Review commitment to ensure requirements are met and liens satisfied
- Receive and deposit escrow funds in established accounts; disburse funds appropriately
- Review closing documents to determine accuracy of information and need for additional information
- Prepare closing statement for purchase of property
- Compile, figure and prepare settlement statements (CD) to determine closing costs of final transaction
- Reviews and follows closing instructions
- Facilitates closing – review and explain documents and terms of transaction to seller, buyer/borrower, obtain and notarize signatures
- Reviews documents to determine that they have been executed according to regulations and are ready to be recorded
- Ensure delivery of completed documents to concerned parties
- Obtain legal documents from attorneys, if required
- Complete and track 1099S for year-end
- May be assigned preparation and execution of 1031 exchanges
- May be assigned to complete final policies/letter reports
- Maintain records and electronic filing system to facilitate easy retrieval of information
Customer Service
- Communicate with homebuyers and sellers, attorneys, realtors and lenders as needed to resolve closing issues
- Customer service orientation: ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Maintain high level of customer service by being proactive in communication with customers
- Support and implementation of GCTS Standards of Excellence

- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, experience with Qualia preferred
- Title License - obtain within six months of commencement of employment
- Notary – when appropriate
- Six hours of continued education annually, certification and licensing in title examination
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or experience
- Experienced in closings, title, real estate or related field is preferred
