Experienced Collector
Guaranteed Auto Finance is seeking an experienced Collector to manage delinquent and outstanding customer balances. This position requires prior hands-on collections experience and the ability to communicate professionally, obtain specific payment commitments, document account activity accurately, and follow accounts through resolution.
Required Experience
· Previous direct collections experience is required.
· Relevant backgrounds include Buy Here Pay Here (BHPH)/automotive finance, consumer or installment lending, loan companies, hospital or medical collections, or another comparable high-volume collections environment.
· Applicants without previous collections experience will not be considered.
Primary Responsibilities
· Contact past-due customers by telephone and other approved communication methods.
· Collect outstanding CPI (Collateral Protection Insurance), side notes, principal, interest, and other miscellaneous charges.
· Review account history and balances before customer contact.
· Secure specific payment commitments, including payment amount and payment date.
· Follow up promptly on broken promises to pay and unresolved balances.
· Document customer contact, payment arrangements, disputes, and follow-up activity accurately.
· Maintain an organized collection queue and prioritize accounts requiring attention.
· Research disputed balances and escalate account issues according to company procedures.
· Meet established collection and productivity expectations while maintaining professional customer communication.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be persistent, organized, accurate, comfortable with high-volume outbound calling, and able to handle difficult conversations without becoming confrontational. Automotive/BHPH experience is a plus, but experienced collectors from lending, medical, financial, or similar fields are encouraged to apply.
