PAY RANGE: $35,778.00 - $59,629.00
REPORTS TO: Reservoir Manager
WORK LOCATION: Coleto Creek Park, 365 Coleto Park Rd, Victoria, TX
SUMMARY
The Reservoir Ranger I is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all recreational facilities associated with the Coleto Creek Reservoir. This position will assist in operations directly related to the Reservoir.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with reservations, collection, and accounting of park entrance/user fees.
- Assist in the operations and maintenance of the park grounds.
- Daily inspection and maintenance of park facilities to ensure they remain clean and sanitary.
- Daily inspection of the campground area, boat ramps, and day use area, reporting any issues to management.
- Maintain the safety and security of all recreational areas through periodic patrols.
- Enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the park and Reservoir.
- Assist in the daily collection and disposal of all refuse material discarded within the park.
- Provide visitors with requested information or assistance.
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of the potable water and wastewater systems by:
- Producing water which meets or exceeds the requirements of the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
- Operating and maintaining the groundwater system to ensure proper function.
- Performing emergency repairs and maintenance when required.
- Performing holding tank pump outs during the winter season for long-term campers and pump out
portable toilets on an as-needed basis.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of all buoy lines and markers within the Reservoir.
- Enforce the rules governing public use of all perimeter property under lease.
- Report customer concerns to management.
- Perform all work in a safe, professional manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist management in preparing the annual division budget.
- Regularly monitor the Coleto Creek Reservoir SCADA system by:
- Completing all required logs and data sheets in an accurate, legible manner.
- Immediately notifying management of any malfunctions or other difficulties encountered
during telemetry system monitoring.
- Maintain the security of the dam and spillway by ensuring that all gates are locked after duty hours and that unauthorized persons are kept off the grounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Operate tractors and riding mowers.
- Safely operate gas, electric, hydraulic, and hand tools and equipment.
- Operation of a boat with an outboard motor.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
- Possess listening and customer service skills while interacting with park visitors.
- Read and understand labels, Safety Data Sheets, and directions.
- Read analog and digital indicators.
- Possess visual acuity to complete work in dark and dimly lit environments.
- Be required to work on a rotating shift basis (day & night shifts) with 10-hour workdays.
- Subject to on-call duties as scheduled by management to respond to emergencies during off-duty hours.
- Possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- Current valid driver's license and ability to remain insurable under GBRA's vehicle liability policy. Must have an acceptable M.V.R.
- TCEQ Class "D" Water Operator License or obtain within 6 months of employment.
EXPERIENCE
(2) Years of full-time experience in customer service, facility maintenance, grounds, and repair maintenance.

Standard physical activity, such as periodic standing, walking, sitting, and basic motor skills to operate necessary computer programs. Walk up to 2 miles over rough terrain, climb up and down vertical ladders and stairways up to 20 feet in length, repeatedly lift 50 pounds from a variety of levels up to 4 feet vertically, and must be able to swim. Wear personal protective equipment, including a full-face respirator. Employees must take an annual Pulmonary Function Test and a Fit Test for respirator use. Employees will be required to take an annual hearing test. Respond to visual and audible alarms and accurately interpret true colors. Perform basic first aid & CPR.
Employees must wear protective footwear in compliance with the ANSI or ASTM standards. New employees are provided with footwear that complies with an ANSI or ASTM standard. Replacement footwear is provided annually for qualifying employees.
