This role focuses on strengthening audit readiness, improving compliance processes, and helping evolve IT from a compliance-driven function to a proactive, risk-focused organization. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments and delivers expert-level audit and SOX guidance to stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a SOX ITGC authority, guiding compliance activities for new and existing in-scope systems.Partner with IT and business stakeholders to provide expert audit support and best practices.Provide subject-matter expertise to the SOX team, implementing quality improvements and process enhancements.Identify, assess, remediate, and monitor SOX control operations.Design new controls and collaborate with audit stakeholders to build efficient compliance processes.Ensure SOX controls are in place prior to system implementations; develop solutions for control gaps.Support remediation of audit findings, track remediation activities, and ensure timely closure.Develop and deliver metrics, reports, and insights related to test results, findings, and improvements.Work collaboratively with audit and compliance teams on ongoing program enhancements.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.8 years of IT risk, compliance, or audit experience, with 4 years specifically in SOX ITGCs.Strong SOX audit background.Deep understanding of SOX, COSO, COBIT, and IT control frameworks.Nice-to-Have ExperienceBig 4 or public accounting experience.Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CIA (CPA a plus).Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., RSA Archer, ServiceNow GRC) and audit tools.Required SkillsSOX ITGC expertiseAudit readiness and stakeholder guidanceIT risk assessment and remediationPreferred SkillsGRC platform experienceStrong analytical and reporting capabilitiesAbility to implement and scale compliance processesAdditional Skills from Original DescriptionAbility to work within a multi-time-zone, inclusive team cultureStrong customer-focused mindset and process-improvement orientationBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientA Fortune 500 off-price apparel and home fashion retailer with over 4,500 stores across nine countries.
