Job Overview: Electromechanical Assembly Estimator
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electromechanical Assembly Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and preparing quotes for Cables, Harnesses, and simple to complex electromechanical assembly projects. Your expertise will help drive project success by providing precise material cost evaluations, accurate labor projections, and ensuring competitive pricing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to our company's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical drawings to develop comprehensive estimates for cables, harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Utilize estimating software such as Epicor/Kinetics, Paperless Parts, and Excel to prepare detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct thorough analysis of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to ensure accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent / technical or vocational training or higher.
- Proven experience in Estimating or Purchasing with a focus on harnesses or electromechanical assemblies.
- Experience in an electromechanical assembly organization to accurately predict tooling needs and labor demand.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ability/ aptitude/ willingness to learn how to use specific estimating software.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents clearly and precisely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple requests from multiple customers concurrently.
- Strong computer skills, working with Word docs populating Excel sheets related to cost proposals etc.
