Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Material Handling
- Preparing metal surfaces for coating through sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, and abrasive blasting.
- Ensuring parts are properly cleaned and free of contaminants prior to coating application.
- Assisting with masking and protecting surfaces to meet coating specifications.
- Loading, hanging, and staging parts for the coating and blasting process.
- Moving materials through production manually or with forklifts.
- Operating and maintaining abrasive blasting equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Cleaning and maintaining prep areas, blasting equipment, and related tools.
- Supporting coating operations by preparing materials and work areas for painters/coaters.
- Following safety procedures and maintaining compliance with PPE and shop safety standards.
- Reading and following work instructions, Product Data Sheets (PDS), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

3rd: 10pm - 6:30am
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in industrial surface preparation, abrasive blasting, or metal finishing
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods for industrial coatings
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, sanders, and blasting equipment
- Ability to safely handle and move materials in a manufacturing environment
- 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, coatings prep, or fabrication environments
- Familiarity with abrasive blast cleaning standards and surface profile requirements
- Forklift experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
