Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Traffic Controller to manage and direct traffic flow at construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy equipment operation and a solid understanding of construction site protocols. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of both workers and the public while maintaining efficient operations on-site.
Responsibilities
- Direct and control traffic around construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Operate various heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, graders, and paving machinery as needed.
- Assist in utility locating to prevent damage to underground services during construction activities.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate operations effectively.
- Monitor site conditions and communicate any hazards or issues promptly.
- Maintain clear communication with all personnel on-site regarding traffic patterns and safety measures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with dozers, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, graders, and paving machinery.
- Previous experience in construction or utility locating is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction site protocols and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills for directing traffic and coordinating with team members.
