Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our motorsport and marine dealership team. This role is responsible for assisting customers and technicians in identifying, sourcing, and purchasing the correct parts and accessories for a wide range of powersports vehicles, marine units, and related equipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and maintains exceptional accuracy in all aspects of parts inventory management. Only experienced, multi line vehicle parts persons or managers will be considered for the Assistant Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Support
- Greet customers in person and over the phone, providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts, accessories, and upgrades.
- Prepare accurate price quotes and process sales transactions efficiently.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge for all stocked brands, units, and accessories.
- Upsell related products and seasonal items where appropriate.
Parts Inventory & Organization
- Accurately look up parts using catalogs, digital systems, and OEM diagrams.
- Receive, verify, and stock incoming shipments, ensuring proper placement and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts department, both front-facing and in storage areas.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
- Track backorders, special orders, and communicate arrival timelines with customers and technicians.
Service Department Support
- Work closely with technicians to ensure timely availability of required parts.
- Prepare internal parts requests and ensure accuracy in job tickets.
- Communicate any delays or issues that may impact repair timelines.
Administrative & System Management
- Use dealership software to manage inventory, invoices, work orders, and customer accounts. AutoMate background a plus.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to dealership policies and manufacturer procedures.
- Assist with warranty parts, returns, and shipping as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dealership, motorsport, automotive, or marine parts department preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with parts lookup systems and dealership management software (or willing to learn).
- Basic mechanical understanding of motorsport and marine products is a plus.
- Ability to lift parts and boxes up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
