What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Representative position at GT&E, LLC and Careers?
Purpose:
The C&F/CCE Sales Representative is a critical field-based role responsible for executing territory-level strategies aligned with the broader objectives set by the Vice President of Sales and the Regional Sales Director. This position demands a professional, customer-focused approach and a high level of industry and product knowledge, particularly as it relates to high-dollar Construction & Forestry (C&F) equipment transactions. The territory for this role is focused in Chester County; the candidate must reside in close proximity to assigned territory.
More than just selling machines, the C&F/CCE Sales Representative builds lasting customer relationships by delivering insights, tailored solutions, and exceptional value—ultimately becoming a trusted advisor to customers in construction, forestry, and agricultural markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive C&F and CCE sales and rental activity across assigned territory, in direct alignment with the VP and RSM’s market share and revenue objectives.
- Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with key decision-makers by consistently adding value through product knowledge, business acumen, and problem-solving.
- Represent the brand and dealership professionally, particularly in high-value C&F transactions that require precision, trust, and long-term commitment.
- Proactively manage the sales pipeline through daily prospecting, customer meeting and jobsite visits, emphasizing solution-based selling and equipment performance.
- Promote sales and rental of new and used John Deere farm (C&F) and compact construction (CCE) equipment, as well as all-makes equipment, parts, and services.
- Identify and qualify opportunities using data provided by leadership (e.g., UCC filings, AEM, Dodge reports), and align activity with strategic targets.
- Present comprehensive proposals including sales, rental, and lease options, as well as value-added programs like warranty, telematics, financing, and preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal departments—Service, Parts, Rental, and Finance—to deliver a seamless and profitable customer experience, while promoting 100% absorption goals.
- Stay informed on OEM initiatives, product launches, and promotions; participate in manufacturer training, sales meetings, and industry trade events.
- Track activity and opportunities accurately in the CRM system and participate in weekly performance check-ins with the RSM.
- Provide ongoing post-sale support to maximize customer satisfaction, loyalty, and future business potential.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- High School education or GED required.
- 3 years of experience in equipment sales, rental, or customer-facing roles within the construction, forestry, or agricultural industries.
- Strong understanding of the C&F product line, high-value deal cycles, and equipment applications across industry sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted business partner, not just a transactional seller.
- Knowledge of leasing, financing, and rental models, with an ability to explain ROI to customers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of the agricultural and/or construction industry, including seasonal cycles and job site operations
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements
