Machine Shop Manager

GST Manufacturing is seeking to hire a Machine Shop Manager. Qualified candidates will have significant prior sheet metal mechanical assembly experience, including reading blueprints/instructions, working with power tools and hand tools, and leading a crew.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is hourly and is commensurate with experience. Benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance for the employee with small employee contribution, 401K with company match, life insurance, disability insurance, paid holidays and paid time off are accrued in accordance with the vesting procedures set forth in the company handbook.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

The primary duties of this role are to program and set-up complex production products for customers on various CNC machining equipment.

CNC Programming:

• Program CNC equipment using MasterCam.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc language, G and M Code.
• Develop innovative programming to reduce manufacturing costs.
• Excellent knowledge of programming software.

Machine Setup and Operation:

• Setup and operate CNC equipment (VMCs, Lathes, HMCs).
• Setup and operate Bridgeport Mills and other manual equipment (Lathes, Horizontal Mills).
• Run first article parts to assure set-up accuracy and part quality.

Technical Skills:

• Ability to read and understand military and private company drawings (Mastered blue print reading).
• Ability to use Measuring Tools (calipers, indicators, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Strong math skills.

Equipment: CNC machining centers, Manual Bridgeport, Manual Lathe, Manual Horizontal Mills.

• Professional Skills:
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work amicably with engineers, customers, and sales personnel.
• Good PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education and Experience Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

• 5 years of supervisory experience
• 7-10 Years of Experience with CNC equipment.
• 5-7 Years of Experience programming using MasterCam
