The Role
We are seeking a Machine Shop Manager who is a master of the craft. You will be the technical lead, responsible for programming complex production products using MasterCam and overseeing a crew to ensure precision and efficiency. This is a "player-coach" role for someone who loves the floor but has the leadership chops to run the department.
What You’ll Do
- Expert Programming: Program VMCs, HMCs, and Lathes using MasterCam.
- Optimization: Utilize Fanuc, G, and M Code to develop innovative programming that reduces manufacturing costs.
- Setup & Operation: Lead setups for complex parts; operate both CNC and manual equipment (Bridgeport Mills, Manual Lathes).
- Quality Control: Run first-article parts to ensure 100% accuracy against blueprints and military/private specs.
- Leadership: Manage and mentor a crew of machinists.
What You Bring
- Experience: 7–10 years with CNC equipment and 5 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- MasterCam Proficiency: 5–7 years of recent experience in MasterCam programming.
- Technical Literacy: Mastery of blueprints (GD&T), military drawings, and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- The Basics: High School Diploma/GED and your own set of tools/gauges.
- Soft Skills: A collaborative mindset—you’ll work closely with engineers, sales, and customers.
