What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Foreman - Steel Construction position at GST MANUFACTURING?

GST Project Foremen are responsible, not only for a crew, but for equipment. They are responsible for service trucks loaded with tools, Skytracks, scissor lifts, man lifts and other such equipment required to do construction work. Our Foremen are certified to safely operate construction equipment and willing to teach others how to become certified.
GST Project Foremen manage our sites, often working directly with GCs, architects and engineers. They represent GST to anyone that comes onsite to look at our work or survey the status of a project. They are our safety presence on site and uphold OSHA regulations and site safety standards.
Foremen are the recordkeepers that record daily activities, problems, progress, and solutions. Our Foremen have a role in how projects are designed by communicating frequently with our detailing staff, our fabrication shop and with our Project Superintendents or Project Managers.
Trust and loyalty are critical characteristics of our Project Foremen. They are GST to our clients and are expected to conduct themselves accordingly. Our Foremen have strong skills in erection / installation of steel, miscellaneous metals, or architectural metals. They have excellent written and oral communication skills. They are computer “savvy” knowing the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel. They have more than 7 years of construction experience, with at least two of those in a lead role.
