Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Our client in the Atlanta area is in need of a Senior Automation Engineer with strong playwright experience to write new test scripts from scratc and perform front end testing for a Content Management System developed with React.

Duration: 6 month contract, with extensions. Onsite in Atlanta once or twice a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright (UI, API, and end-to-end)
• Build and evolve automation frameworks to support CI/CD and rapid release cycles
• Collaborate with developers and product leads to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
• Integrate automated testing into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Improve coverage across regression, functional, cross-browser, and compatibility testing
• Investigate, document, and track defects with actionable reporting
• Champion automation best practices and mentor junior QA engineers
• Participate in release readiness and overall quality governance

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years experience in Software QA / Test Automation
• 3 years hands-on with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred)
• Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up
• Knowledge of modern web application technologies (React, Angular, etc.)
• API test automation expertise (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
• Strong experience with CI/CD workflows and Git-based version control
• Deep understanding of automation design patterns and scalable test architecture
