Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in flooring installation, tile laying, and related construction activities. This role involves working on various projects including remodeling, restoration, and new construction sites. The Floor Installer will be responsible for ensuring precise installation of flooring materials while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Candidates with a background in carpentry, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools will excel in this position.
Duties
- This is an on call basis until it gets more busy
- Install a variety of flooring materials including tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute project requirements accurately
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as needed before installation
- Use hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, caulking guns, and buffing equipment to complete installations
- Perform trim carpentry tasks including baseboards, moldings, and fixture installation to ensure a finished look
- Conduct water damage restoration tasks when necessary, including water extraction and surface drying
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and finish quality
- Assist with other construction activities such as cabinet installation, remodeling projects, or concrete finishing as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols throughout all phases of installation
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction fields
- Knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading for accurate project planning
- Familiarity with schematics, fixture installation, restoration industry practices, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Experience with water damage restoration, floor care, caulking, trim carpentry, cabinetry installation, or remodeling is highly desirable
- Construction site experience with an understanding of safety standards is essential
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Strong carpentry skills including blueprint interpretation and schematic comprehension
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to different project requirements
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work on-site for extended periods in various environmental conditions
