Lead Shopify Developer
Location: San Ramon, CA (Regular Onsite)
Job Type: Contract (Long-Term)
GSPANN is seeking a skilled Shopify Developer for a long-term onsite contract opportunity in San Ramon, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Shopify Liquid, JavaScript, and Shopify storefront customization. This role requires expertise in product and catalog management, pricing updates, and maintaining high-performing Shopify eCommerce websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify storefronts using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Create and modify Liquid templates to support business and merchandising requirements.
- Manage Shopify products, collections, catalogs, variants, and inventory configurations.
- Perform product setup, catalog updates, pricing changes, promotions, and merchandising activities.
- Implement UI enhancements and improve storefront functionality while ensuring responsive design.
- Work closely with business, merchandising, and product teams to deliver website enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Shopify storefront issues and production defects.
- Ensure website performance, usability, and compatibility across modern browsers and devices.
- Follow coding standards, version control, and development best practices.
Required Skills
- 4 years of hands-on experience with Shopify development.
- Strong experience with Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience managing Shopify products, collections, catalogs, pricing, and merchandising updates.
- Knowledge of Shopify Admin and theme customization.
- Experience working with Git and Agile development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify APIs (REST and/or GraphQL).
- Familiarity with Shopify Plus is a plus.
- Experience in Retail or eCommerce domain.
- Understanding of SEO and website performance optimization.
