Key Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Flows, Apex classes and triggers and Lightning Web Components (LWC) to extend Salesforce functionality in support of business requirements.
- Apply a configuration-first approach — favor declarative solutions (Flows, Validation Rules, Permission Sets) before custom code, reserving Apex/LWC development for requirements that exceed configuration capabilities.
- Use Copado CI/CD to manage source control, deployments, and release pipelines across Salesforce environments.
- Write and maintain Apex unit tests (meeting org code-coverage requirements) and collaborate with the DevOps team to debug, triage, and remediate defects.
- Contribute to and maintain technical documentation (design specs, deployment notes, release documentation).
- Use Jira to document user stories, acceptance criteria, and design changes for both defect remediation and new feature development.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with Apex (classes, triggers) and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Strong understanding of declarative Salesforce configuration (Flow Builder, Process Builder migration, validation rules, page layouts, permission sets).
- Production experience with Copado (or comparable Salesforce CI/CD tooling) for release management.
- Experience writing Apex unit tests and working within a DevOps-driven defect remediation process.
- Practical experience with Jira for agile story writing, acceptance criteria, and defect tracking.
- Strong written communication skills for technical documentation.
- Exposure to Salesforce AI capabilities (Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder) or familiarity with recent Dreamforce product announcements (Preferred).
- Salesforce Platform Developer I/II certification (Preferred).
- Experience supporting government/public-sector Salesforce implementations (Preferred).
Position Requirements:
- Hybrid position based in Glen Allen, VA.
- The selected candidate must be able to work from office 2 days a week. Will the selected incumbent be in office 2 days (Mondays and Thursdays)
