Job Title: Registered Nurse-Corrections
Location: 8201 State Road Philadelphia, PA 19136
Shift timing: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Duration: 11-week contract (Possibility of extension)
Pay rate: $58.00/hr. on W2
Note: This is for a jail. Cell phones are not allowed in the secure perimeter of the facility. Family members can reach you by calling the medical triage numbers. Must have assessment experience. Must be able to draw blood. Must be willing to float to another facility if needed. Must be able to work every other weekend. Must be available to start at 3pm and stay until 11:30pm, 5 days per week totaling 40 hours per week.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to join a correctional healthcare team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, safe, and effective nursing care within a secure correctional environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency nursing care to incarcerated individuals.
- Conduct health assessments, triage sick calls, and manage chronic conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as prescribed.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and patient interactions accurately and timely.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report critical findings to the provider.
- Maintain safety and security procedures while delivering patient care.
- Collaborate with correctional officers, mental health professionals, and other medical staff.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide stabilization until additional help arrives.
- Follow facility protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience (correctional, ER, psych, or acute care preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and secure correctional environment.
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work the assigned 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM shift.
- Current BLS certification.
Pay: $56.00 - $58.00 per hour
