Responsibilities
Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) is looking for entry-level Lab Technicians to join our construction materials testing lab in Kennesaw right off Hwy 41. No lab experience is necessary. A construction or manufacturing background is preferred.
This role includes hands-on training with compression testing machines and soil analysis equipment. It’s not a spotless television-style lab, this is real-world testing with dirt and concrete. Think jeans and a t-shirt, but with serious career development potential with a 60-year-old company that’s one of the largest and fastest growing geo-technical engineering firms in the country, full benefits, and room to grow.
As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests involving soil, concrete and asphalt samples.

As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests involving soil, concrete and asphalt samples.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and test samples of concrete and soils to determine their properties, including strength, durability, permeability, and other mechanical properties.
- Conduct tests on materials used in construction, such as aggregates, cement, and asphalt
- Responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately, and recording and analyzing data.
- Responsible for writing reports and communicating findings to engineers
Requirements are simple:
- 18 or older
- Mature work ethic
- Reliable
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Responsible and eager to learn
- The ability to occasionally lift 45Lbs from floor level to tabletop height.
