GSD Search has been engaged to assist a Healthcare client with a few Founding Engineers for a client located in Nashville. This is Direct Hire and Hybrid in Nashville.

Full-Stack Software Engineer (Senior / Staff / Principal)

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $160-185k

Overview

We’re looking for exceptional full-stack engineers to help build the foundation of a new, modern healthcare technology platform. As one of the first engineers on the team, you will play a defining role in shaping our architecture, product direction, and engineering culture.

This is a true ground-floor opportunity for someone who loves building from scratch, moving quickly, and delivering polished, high-impact software that improves real-world patient care.

What You’ll Do

Own major product areas end-to-end, including:

• Designing and building customer-facing web applications, UI components, APIs, and backend integrations.
• Leading greenfield architecture decisions with a focus on performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Translating product requirements into technical specifications, collaborating with stakeholders, and shipping to production.
• Working closely with users, product, and leadership to iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Contributing to an engineering culture that values craftsmanship, speed, and ownership.

Required Experience

• 5 years of full-stack engineering experience, with strong proficiency in front-end frameworks (React, TypeScript, Next.js or similar) and modern backend languages (Python, Golang, Java/Kotlin, etc.).
• Demonstrated ownership in ambiguous, fast-moving environments—whether at a startup, through leading large projects, or building meaningful side products.
• Ability to communicate clearly, write persuasively, and navigate technical discussions with confidence.

Preferred Skills

• Deep backend expertise: cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), relational & NoSQL databases, APIs, and data pipelines (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
• Experience with modern hosting platforms (Vercel, Netlify, etc.).
• Familiarity with AI-native coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
• Healthcare technology background (HIPAA, EHR/EMR integrations, e-prescribing, etc.).

Compensation & Benefits
