At GSC, we provide 3D engineering solutions to our customers around the country. For over 30 years, our 40 person (and growing) team is dedicated to strategically tackling even the toughest requests with a ‘can-do' attitude. As we expand, our determination and focus to drive innovation and new product development continue to be among our top priorities. Reporting to the President, the Director of Engineering Solutions plays a pivotal role in ensuring top tear service for our clients and operation. In this role, you will lead the technical pre-sales application engineering, training, and technical support teams across multiple domains working closely with the sales and marketing departments. You will also provide insight to grow GSC organically or through acquisition.  For the right person, this could allow growth into a VP role.  Our robust benefits package includes:

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Provide departmental direction and leadership for Application Engineering, Training, Technical Support teams
• Partner with Sales and Marketing for go-to-market strategies for products and services
• Collaborate with the sales and services teams to deliver a best in class customer experience
• Develop, monitor, and act upon KPI’s set forth for each department
• Generate reports weekly/ monthly/ quarterly/ ad hoc to track success of strategic initiatives
• Prepare and maintain departmental budgets
• Active participant in the leadership team, collaborate and execute with team members on strategic initiatives set therein
• Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance

Technical

• Serve as a technical resource for SOLIDWORKS and other 3D engineering solutions

Relations

• Contribute to and help drive a positive, inclusive working environment 
• Contribute to relationships with our GSC software partners

Strategy

• Strategic vision with the ability to execute
• Research emerging technologies, including AI, to identify innovative solutions and uncover new revenue opportunities
• Maintain awareness of competitors, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards
• Facilitate staff training programs to meet technical, sales and quality requirements through certifications
• Research and recommend emerging, complimentary and adjacent technologies

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred
• 10 years of industry experience preferred
• Solid experience using 3D CAD software required. SOLIDWORKS applications knowledge highly preferred
• Executive-level presentation skills and ability to handle high-level client interactions
• Previous leadership experience with demonstrated ability to drive results
• Demonstrable ability and proven track record in strategy-building and implementation
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to travel locally and in the region; utilize video conferencing
• Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and terms
