What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Management Branch Chief position at GSA, Public Buildings Service?
As a Project Management Branch Chief, you will provide expert professional and/or technical consulting and services surrounding major, complex programs managed and/or facilitated by Office of Program & Project Management (OPPM).
Location of position: GSA - Public Building Services (PBS) - Office of Program and Project Management (PX)

The GS-14 salary range starts at $125,776 per year. Salary depends on the duty location and associated locality pay.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
- Directing, managing, and providing expert oversight for a diverse portfolio of complex federal projects, including multi-million dollar design and construction activities across business lines.
- Supervising or leading project teams through formal or informal authority examples include planning and assigning work, evaluating performance, mentoring staff, resolving conflicts to achieve organizational objectives.
- Serving as a technical expert and stakeholder liaison by providing authoritative guidance on project management practices, communicating complex technical information to senior leadership and customer agencies to facilitate successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Directly leads and manages the execution of projects through the supervision of a staff of project managers. To accomplish this task the incumbent will coordinate with staff responsible for managing programs and projects within scope.
- Develops and directs the analysis and evaluation of high level complex projects and activities in terms of operational procedures, organization, work flow and overall effectiveness.
- Resolves disputes that arise and develops and executes non-routine, complex procedures to improve program execution, organization of project teams, and arrangements.
- Serves as an expert in the areas of Branch activities and/or high level projects and other work required for effective program management, tracking and overall exercises responsibility for related projects and/or services that involve substantive interaction with other stakeholders and partners in the facilitation of high level Office of Program and Project Management programs and services.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of Branch employees.
