What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at GS Development?
Looking for someone to work full-time (can be flexible as well) with a lot of experience with end dumps, grinders, crushers, wheel loaders, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
- Maintain and repair:
- End dump trucks
- Wheel loaders
- Grinders
- Crushers
- Excavators
- Bulldozers
- Skid steers
- Compaction equipment
- Other grading and aggregate equipment
- Diagnose equipment problems and determine the most efficient method of repair.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and general equipment repairs as needed.
- Complete routine service work, including oil changes, filter replacement, greasing, fluid checks, and inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
- Strong experience working on construction, grading, quarry, or aggregate equipment.
- Experience with end dumps, wheel loaders, grinders, crushers, and other heavy equipment strongly preferred.
- Strong diesel engine diagnostic and repair skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform repairs with minimal supervision.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and other repair resources.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
