This position requires on-site attendance and involves interpreting written prescriptions, checking for drug interactions and allergies, entering prescription and patient data into the computer system, and providing prescription information to Pharmacy Technicians for filling. The successful candidate will also supervise Technicians, check all work for accuracy, and serve patients through counseling over the phone and in person.
Key Responsibilities
The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for:
- Interpreting written prescriptions and checking for drug interactions and allergies
- Entering prescription and patient data into the computer system
- Providing prescription information to Pharmacy Technicians for filling
- Supervising Technicians and checking all work for accuracy
- Serving patients through counseling over the phone and in person
- Conducting research as necessary to ensure that all services are in the best interests of the patient and conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A minimum Bachelor's level degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited Pharmacy College
- An active and unrestricted Pharmacy license in the state
- One to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
