What You'll be Owning
- Reconcile daily banking activity, bank statements and account balances monthly
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting documentation
- Responsible for general and inventory accounting
- Generate financial reports and variance analysis. Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and identify trends or discrepancies
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company accounting policies.
- Support the corporate rate structure for government contractors
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and documentation standardization
- Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested
What You Must Have
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
- Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
What Would be Nice to Have
- Government contracting is a plus
- CPA certification or in-process certification preferred but not required
- Experience with Unanet and Deltek Costpoint is a plus
