Storm Door Installer (Sub-contractor)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Storm Door Installer (Sub-contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately installing, hanging, and securing storm doors on residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets safety standards, building codes, and customer expectations. Responsibilities

• Measure door openings precisely to ensure proper fit and alignment of storm doors
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for installation guidance
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to install doors securely
• Perform heavy lifting of doors and related materials safely to avoid damage or injury
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards during all installations
• Conduct minor mechanical repairs or adjustments to doors or framing as needed
• Install related fixtures such as locks, handles, trim carpentry elements, drywall patches, caulking, and sealing for a finished look
• Interpret technical schematics and blueprints to accurately execute installation plans
• Collaborate with clients to address questions or concerns about the installation process
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly

Skills

• Proven experience in glass installation, door hanging, and framing carpentry
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs or adjustments on-site
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
• Construction site experience with an understanding of safety protocols and building practices
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
• Knowledge of building code compliance related to door installations and remodeling projects
• Excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction during the installation process
• Mechanical repair skills with familiarity in electrical work related to fixtures or door mechanisms
• Experience with drywall finishing, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, cabinetry, fixture installation, locksmithing, and remodeling projects is a plus
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces as required
