Job Overview
Join a dynamic cardiac care team as a Registered Nurse on our Interventional Cardiology Unit. This acute intermediate care telemetry floor provides specialized care for patients recovering from advanced cardiac interventions and procedures. This is an exceptional part-time opportunity to build a strong foundation in cardiac nursing, utilize critical thinking skills with decisive judgment, and consistently deliver high-quality, compassionate care that positively impacts patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Service: Drive health promotion and restoration by expertly completing the nursing process; collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform necessary treatment procedures; provide essential physical, educational, and emotional support to patients, friends, and families; and supervise assigned team members.
- Planning & Communication: Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, seeking support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed. Maintain clear, effective communication to accurately convey patient health status, treatment plans, and progress.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management: Demonstrate proficient use of the EHR, ensuring all patient and provider documentation and communication is accurate and timely.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to all required department and system protocols, relevant local, state, and federal regulations, and mandatory education requirements.
Requirements
- Qualities: Must be compassionate, warm, patient-focused, possess strong critical thinking skills, exercise decisive judgment, and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Possession of a Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Physical Demands: Physical capacity to perform Medium Work (exerting $20$ to $50$ pounds of force occasionally, and/or $10$ to $25$ pounds of force frequently, and/or up to $10$ pounds of force constantly to move objects). The role requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- At least six months of prior RN experience is preferred.
