Essential Functions
- Clinical Competency: Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
- Procedure Execution: Ensure proper patient identification and order verification, and prepare the patient for the exam. Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
- Safety and Environment: Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment. Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
- Efficiency: Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
- Patient Care and Education: Provide appropriate patient education, ensure patient comfort, and address concerns.
- Training and Support: Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
- Compliance and Documentation: Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions. Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
- Cross-Functional Support: May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform MA functions in a clinic or InstaCare setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification is required.
- Licensure: Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (Colorado) is required.
- Life Support: Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: 1-2 years of general radiology experience.
- Certification: IV Certification.
