Manager of Electrical Division

Grunwald Mechanical is actively seeking an outgoing, hands-on leader to manage and grow our Electrical Division. This role is responsible for project management of electrical service work and contracted projects from estimate through closeout, motivating craft teams, and protecting and expanding client relationships.

The successful candidate will be proficient in the electrical craft and equally strong in the business side of the work—project management, sales, contract review, budgeting, drawing review, estimating, and scheduling.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate electrical craft and field supervision to deliver safe, high-quality work on time and on budget
• Drive sales and business development for the electrical division: pursue new work, expand existing accounts, prepare proposals, and close profitable opportunities
• Build and maintain positive client relationships; identify opportunities to expand work with existing accounts and develop new clients
• Oversee electrical estimating for service work and contracted projects; review estimates for completeness, risk, and margin
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts; flag scope gaps, constructability issues, and commercial risk before work begins
• Develop and manage project and service budgets; track costs, labor productivity, and change orders
• Schedule service work and contracted electrical projects, coordinating labor, materials, and subcontractors
• Ensure field work complies with the National Electrical Code, applicable local codes, company safety standards, and client requirements
• Partner with operations, accounting, and ownership on billing, collections, and project financial reporting
• Support hiring, training, and performance management within the electrical division
• Champion a safety-first culture and participate in incident review and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in the electrical craft, with the technical depth to review drawings, field conditions, and installation methods
• Proven experience leading and motivating electrical craft and field teams
• Experience with contract review, project budgeting, and electrical estimating
• Ability to schedule both service work and contracted electrical projects
• Sales experience with a track record of winning work and growing a client base
• Strong client-facing skills with a track record of protecting and growing customer relationships
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• McCormick electrical estimating software experience (preferred, not required)
• State of Nebraska Electrical Contractor License (preferred, not required)
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license
• Experience managing both service/T&M work and bid-build or design-build electrical projects
• Familiarity with mechanical/electrical multi-trade environments and coordinated construction schedules
• OSHA 30 and current electrical safety training

Work Environment

This is a working management role that splits time between the office and jobsites. Expect regular field visits, client meetings, and after-hours coordination when service or project conditions require it.
