What are the responsibilities and job description for the Economic Development Associate position at Grundy Economic Development Council?
The GEDC is accepting applications for an Economic Development Associate.
This part-time position requires a detail-oriented person, that is comfortable with digital
tools, can take initiative, manage multiple projects, maintain accurate records, track
economic data, property documentation, and investor communications with precision.
Economic Development Associate
Key Responsibilities:
• Support business development and prospect activities, including preparation of
RFIs, site selection, incentives, and utility information.
• Oversee documentation of properties, sites, maps, and related supporting
materials.
• Maintain and update the GEDC website and monthly/yearly economic
data/statistics for investors and stakeholders.
• Manage communications with GEDC investors and partners through social
media channels.
• Design and develop external marketing materials and property maps using
Canva and PowerPoint
• Assist with the Grundy County Summer Internship Program, including business
recruitment and coordination with educational partners and interns.
• Coordinate, research, and execute special projects as directed by the CEO
and/or Board of Directors.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business or a related field.
• Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills with the ability to present
complex information clearly.
• Strong technology skills and comfort in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva (or other
graphic design tools), and digital marketing/social media platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and
deadlines.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and
collaboratively in a professional environment.
Benefits
• Salary Range $20-$25/hour based on experience. This is a part-time position.
