Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking an Application Engineer I to join our Industry Applications Engineering team. The role of Application Engineer is to provide technical support and quotations with regard to the selection, price, design and delivery impact that will meet or exceed customer expectations in alignment with departmental procedures. This role will communicate and collaborate with outside business partners, internal customers, and direct suppliers while adhering to corporate policy and procedure.
This position reports to the Industry Applications Engineer Team Lead and offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days at our Indianapolis, Indiana facility and two days working remotely from home

What is the job about?
- Analyze product specifications to determine technical requirements, including equipment selection, sizing, costing, and pricing.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain pricing, delivery schedules, and technical information.
- Create detailed work instructions to meet customer requirements, enhance production processes, and assist with purchasing.
- Provide comprehensive documentation to Project Management, including pricing, delivery schedules, design information, and customer specifications.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify causes of margin erosion and implement improvements for future projects.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and eliminating errors in the order-winning process.
- Champion teamwork and communication in alignment with company values and standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost).
- Advocate for customer needs within the CSC, ensuring their requirements are met.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Complete special projects and perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business with equivalent experience in technical sales and manufacturing
- Previous experience in Engineering, Project Management and/or Sales in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detail
- Working knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Access®, Power Point®, Projects®, Outlook etc.), AutoCAD (or other drafting tools), SAP and CRM systems
- Advanced understanding of pumps, construction, hydraulics, and application of rotating equipment
- Has high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitments
