JOB TITLE: Flash Cut Operator
PURPOSE
The Flash Cut Operator primarily works in the Cut Part Value Steam, where day-to-day activities include the operation of machines to fabricate precision parts, including equipment setup, maintenance, and preparing material for cutting. Technicians must ensure that proper customer specifications and tolerances are maintained throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the highest product quality. Cross-training into other areas is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate Flash Cut.
- Load or feed material into Flash Cut.
- Adjust Flashcut to the proper settings as required.
- Layout and prepare materials for cutting.
- Train or assist in training new workers.
- Inspect finished products for and conformance to specifications and quality standards, visually using instruments.
- Program AutoCAD for operation of Atom Flashcut.
- Perform maintenance on equipment as required.
- Audit the use of safety devices, equipment, and general housekeeping.
- Interface with other employees/trainees and value streams as required to accomplish assignments.
- Perform other functions as required.
- Maintain a dependable attendance record.
- Follow all related work instructions.
- Participates in Safety programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous gasket experience desirable.
- Prefer a Minimum of one (1) year of CNC machine experience.
- Experience working in an ISO-compliant quality system is a plus
- Able to work from documentation such as drawings, 3D models and DXF, DWG files.
- Good working knowledge of math and geometry and ability to work in both Metric and English units of measure.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade School or Associate Degree in a related field.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
COMPUTER SKILLS
The incumbent needs a basic understanding of computers and printers
