Assistant Property Manager – Your Job Duties
- Drive day-to-day commercial property management operations across a portfolio of retail, office, and industrial properties
- Work directly with property owners providing updates, recommendations and support
- Review and interpret commercial leases, including CAM structures and tenant obligations
- Perform CAM reconciliations and support budgeting and financial tracking for properties
- Monitor rent collections, enforce lease terms, and support resolution of delinquencies
- Manage accounts payable workflow including invoice processing, coding, and approvals
- Coordinate maintenance, vendor work, and property inspections to ensure asset performance
- Communicate directly with tenants to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships
- Draft tenant notices, correspondence, and property communications
- Support marketing and leasing efforts for vacant spaces
- Step in to support Property Manager responsibilities as needed
Assistant Property Manager – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)
- Exposure to commercial property management where you are involved, not just observing
- Working knowledge of CAM reconciliations and how leases actually impact the numbers
- Confidence navigating budgets, financial reports, and property performance metrics
- Understanding of accounts payable flow and how money moves through a property
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially using Excel to make sense of data
- Familiarity with property management systems like Yardi (a plus)
- California Real Estate license or motivation to obtain it as you build your career
Assistant Property Manager – Benefits for You
Your pay range will be $28.85–$36.06 per hour, depending on your experience level. You will have access to unlimited PTO and paid holidays, giving you flexibility and balance.
