Position Overview
The Overnight Medical Assistant plays an essential role in supporting the health, safety, and overnight medical needs of adolescents within our residential treatment program. This position works closely with nurses, therapists, psychiatrists, educators, and residential staff to help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic overnight environment.
What Youll Do
Medical Support & Client Care
- Take and record vital signs, complete drug screenings, and document medical updates
- Administer medications according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Monitor clients throughout the overnight shift for behavioral, emotional, or medical concerns
- Provide one-on-one supervision for clients with elevated safety, behavioral, or medical needs
- Support overnight client routines while maintaining professionalism and therapeutic boundaries
- Assist with coordinating urgent medical concerns and communicating updates to treatment staff
- Respond appropriately during medical or behavioral emergencies following company protocols
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records, shift logs, incident reports, and overnight documentation
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and facility standards
- Follow all medication administration, infection control, and safety procedures
- Support compliance with licensing, accreditation, and program requirements
- Maintain organization and cleanliness within medical and client care areas
Team Collaboration & Therapeutic Environment
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, behavioral staff, and overnight leadership
- Participate in shift handoffs, trainings, meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Contribute positively to the overall therapeutic and residential environment
- Help maintain a calm, structured, safe, and supportive overnight setting for adolescents
- Maintain flexibility and composure in fast-paced or high-stress situations

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Medical Assistant from an accredited program
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced residential treatment environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, or related settings
- Experience working with adolescents ages 1217
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Experience supporting clients with mental health, eating disorders, substance use, or dual diagnosis needs
- Experience with medication administration and behavioral health documentation
