What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2021-22 Elementary School Teacher - Science (LIC) position at Growing Up Green Charter School?

Responsibilities:
- Co-teach with classroom teachers to provide science instruction in a laboratory setting
- Participate in Science Team curricular meetings
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Science Lab and all materials (both living and non-living) therein
- Work in conjunction with classroom teachers to assess student performance through a multitude of tasks such as lab reports, science notebooks, rubrics, etc
- Collaborate with School Leader and classroom teachers to integrate Science and ED Time (Explore and Discover Time) units
- Work with instructional coach on specific goals throughout the year
- Respond productively to on-going, year-round, professional feedback
- Assist in the maintenance of the school's garden
- Contribute to the school's sustainability initiatives and be an active member of the Sustainability Committee
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Attend school-wide and district-wide professional development workshops
Qualifications:
- Strong commitment to Growing Up Green Charter School's mission and green theme
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of teachers
- At least one year of teaching experience in a school setting
- Experience in environmental education a plus
- Experience in integrating technology into teaching
- Excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable with sharing a small space
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
Required Certificates & Licenses:
Teaching certificate, NYC DOE/Fingerprinting & Background Clearance
