Job Overview
The Interim Administrative Director works directly with the Senior President and Vice President to support and advance the mission of Growing the Distance, Inc. (GTD). Under limited supervision, this role performs a combination of administrative, child development, program coordination, and communication tasks that support students, staff, and families enrolled in GTD’s enrichment programs.
The Administrative Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and collaborating on a daily program of developmentally appropriate, academically oriented, nurturing, and engaging experiences for school-age children. This position oversees students, staff, and facility operations while ensuring program quality, compliance, and positive family engagement.
In addition to program administration, the Enrichment Administrator supports social media engagement, community partnerships and program visibility by assisting with content creation, storytelling, and promotion of GTD activities, events, community and student experiences across digital platforms, in alignment with the organization’s brand and values.
This role serves as a primary liaison between the program, students, community members and parents or legal guardians, providing clear communication, addressing concerns, and fostering strong relationships. The Enrichment Administrator also completes clerical and administrative duties necessary for smooth daily operations and reports to the appropriate supervisor.

Able to read, write, understand, and speak English; fluency in Spanish is a plus and highly valued.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Primarily responsible for supervising, supporting, and coaching Group Leaders, while working collaboratively with GTD team members to ensure the enrichment program delivers high-quality care that expands children’s experiences, extends learning, and provides warm, nurturing support.
- Adheres to all Growing the Distance (GTD) policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, ensuring program compliance and consistent implementation of organizational standards.
- Uses program resources to plan and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging activities for students; leads, assists, and actively participates in both indoor and outdoor lessons, games, and enrichment experiences on-site and during field trips, serving as a positive role model at all times.
- Assists with daily program set-up and breakdown to ensure children have access to a variety of age-appropriate resources, interest centers, and activities; maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment; safeguards program supplies and prepares spaces for continued use.
- Completes, maintains, and oversees student records, program operation reports, and required documentation; collects necessary forms and information from parents and guardians; ensures confidentiality of student and family information at all times.
- Utilizes positive behavior reinforcement and developmentally appropriate guidance strategies to promote appropriate behavior; documents behavioral concerns and communicates with GTD Directors when additional support or intervention is needed.
- Plans, facilitates, and participates in regular staff meetings focused on program needs, identified gaps, and personal and professional development; shares insights gained from trainings, research, and professional learning opportunities.
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing special programs, events, enrichment activities, field trips, and collaborations with community partners and resource persons.
- Participates in workforce development efforts, including conducting interviews and making recommendations regarding the hiring and dismissal of staff, interns, and volunteers in collaboration with GTD leadership.
- Designs and develops visually appealing flyers and promotional materials for programs, events, and community initiatives.
- Supports marketing and outreach efforts by representing Growing the Distance at community events throughout the Triad area, including setting up vendor tables, engaging the public, and effectively sharing the mission, programs, and impact of GTD.
