Role Description
This is a flexible, PRN opportunity designed for an Occupational Therapist who values autonomy, independence, and the ability to build their practice around their own schedule. You will have ownership over your caseload and the patients you serve, with the flexibility to determine your availability and hours based on your interests and the needs of the caseload. Because this is a PRN role, hours may fluctuate over time as referrals and patient needs change, giving you the freedom to take on as much or as little as fits your schedule. This position is ideal for a self-motivated therapist who thrives working independently, managing their own scheduling and documentation, and taking full ownership of their patient care. You will have complete clinical autonomy, allowing you to use your professional judgment to determine evaluation, treatment, goals, frequency, and plan of care for each child.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, with experience designing and implementing pediatric treatment plans.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine and Pediatrics to safely address developmental, neuromuscular, and sensory needs in children.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals in a clear, supportive manner.
- Active state licensure (or eligibility) as an Occupational Therapist in Iowa; graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Experience in pediatric home-based or community-based practice is preferred, including work with infants, toddlers, and school-age children.
- Ability to travel locally to client homes and community locations, manage a flexible caseload, and work independently while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Strong documentation, time management, and clinical reasoning skills, with commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
