GLMS also provides pre-authorized education contributions to ensure that these courses can be a source of regular, personal growth as well as within the organization. Teachers who complete their training courses are eligible for promotions and increases in compensation based on their current roles and future commitments. In addition to providing experienced teacher mentorship, in person classes and online training throughout the year. GLMS encourages all of our teachers to participate in ongoing education courses to both build their knowledge and help them grow in their careers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 units of early childhood education that include: child development, child, family, and community, and curriculum
- Minimum 6 months experience working with children, ideally Toddler aged (2-3 years old)
(A partially qualified Teacher must have at least 1 year of teaching experience, 6 units and be continually enrolled in ECE courses until successfully completing 12 units. A partially qualified teacher falls under the assistant in the wage scale until completing all 12 units.)
Responsibilities
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 3:00PM.
- Assist with supervising and carrying out an effective program for the class in accordance with the philosophy of the school and Montessori teachings.
- Guide and support toddlers through daily routines
- Gear the program to the needs of the individual children with concern for interests, challenges, talents, etc.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to support a consistent and caring approach
- Maintain communication with parents - in person or email.
- Treat each child and staff member with care and respect.
- Be responsible for the décor, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom.
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs, including in-service staff meetings.
- Reports to the Director for supervision.
Compensation:
- $22.36-26.52/hr based on experience and completed course work.
- 401K retirement benefit with 5% employer match.
