What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Cultivation position at GROWCO INC?
The Opportunity
The Director of Cultivation is responsible for the daily operation of the cultivation and management of all plants including, but not limited to, mothers, clones, vegetative stage plants, flowering plants, and drying plants. The Director of Cultivation oversees and participates in activities related to the growing different cultivars/strains, identifying a variety of pests/pathogens, scheduling operations including workforce, maintenance, and core cultivation operations (planting, harvest, IPM, etc.). The ideal candidate is observant with prior experience in cannabis cultivation. They must be familiar with pruning techniques, different cultivars, pesticides, and fertigation. This is a labor-intensive position that requires attention to detail, self-accountability, good critical thinking skills, and an on-site presence.
What You Get to Do
· Manages the cultivation team across propagation, cultivation, harvest, drying, curing and trimming to produce consistent optimized high product cannabis production
· Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Responsible for improving efficiency and operations.
· Manages the cultivation schedule to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
· Controls cultivation environments in several rooms to maintain optimal conditions for plant growth.
· Counsels, coaches, and resolves conflicts with associates experiencing personal and/or professional difficulties.
· Ensures associates have appropriate training and resources to complete tasks.
· Inspects plants for quality control. Identifies tasks that need to be completed, growth irregularities, and potential crop threats.
· Follows fertilizer mixing procedures and mixes fertilizer according to maturity of plants and ensures all plants are watered adequately based on the set dosage.
· Inspects and maintains functional irrigation and adjusts feeding according to plant needs.
· Maintains a high-quality work environment that motivates and fosters teamwork and positivity.
· Takes appropriate disciplinary action as needed involving associate conduct and performance according to company policy.
· Maintains a clean, pest and disease-free environment
· Assists cultivation team with development, analysis, and implementation of staffing, training, scheduling, and operations.
· Acts as a leader/member on special or ongoing projects that are important to operational success.
· Establishes processes and procedures in support of company and departmental standards and strategic directives.
· Manages and accurately inputs METRC data to assure compliance.
· Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of cultivation

What Qualifies You
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Eight (8) years experience in large cultivation or production management
· Five (5) years supervisory experience
· METRC experience required
· Degree in Horticulture preferred
· Preferred knowledge of cannabis law, and horticulture skills.
· Ability to pass background check and licensing requirements.
