What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Supply Store Manager position at GrowBIGogh, Inc?
GrowBIG Commercial Grower's Supply is a farm & garden supply shop (warehouse retail) with locations in Watsonville, Salinas and Gilroy CA. We are currently hiring for an additional business manager (in training), preferably for Salinas but could be Gilroy based depending on the individual.
Most of our clients are commercial farms growing high-value crops in controlled-environment agriculture such as climate-controlled greenhouses. The business manager role requires both managing the facility, inventory, and customer traffic plus managing key customer relationships within a 30 mile radius.
This position requires your presence Mon-Fri from 9-5. We are closed on weekends and major holidays. You will have one or more direct reports handling the register plus warehouse management and local deliveries.
Work is onsite at the store with weekly onsite visits to local farming clients, 40 hours/week. Overtime is paid at 1.5x base, and compensation includes uncapped commissions on certain transaction types plus quarterly bonuses. Company health care plan is available to the employee plus dependents.
GrowBIG has a cloud-based point of sale and inventory system that requires basic computer skills. Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience a plus. Successful inside or outside sales experience is a requirement. Must be customer-focused with a can-do attitude. Must also have some knowledge of cultivation equipment and supplies such as Gavita lights, Grodan rockwool, and veg/bloom enhancing fertilizers. Hands-on cultivation experience a plus.
