We are hiring an experienced Mobile Service Technician to keep our fleet of heavy equipment running at peak performance. This field role focuses on Caterpillar and John Deere machinery. You will work from a company provided service truck, traveling to active job sites to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs effectively minimizing downtime and keeping projects on schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, and lubrication on heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues with engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, and undercarriages - with emphasis on Caterpillar and John Deere equipment.
- Make repairs on small equipment, attachments, and support tools as required on job sites.
- Travel to various job sites in the company service truck to provide timely on-site service and reduce equipment downtime.
- Maintain detailed service records, manage parts inventory, and coordinate supply orders.
- Safely operate the service truck, PTO-driven air compressor, and Miller welder while on site.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with operators, foremen, and management regarding equipment condition and repair timelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Extensive experience maintaining and repairing Caterpillar and John Deere heavy equipment (5 years strongly preferred).
- Proven diagnostic and repair skills in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains.
- Must supply a complete, high-quality personal tool set to fully outfit the service truck.
- Valid driver's license required. CDL Class A or B with air brake endorsement strongly preferred.
- Welding experience (MIG and/or stick) is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work independently in the field, troubleshoot problems, and manage time under minimal supervision.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs., climb on large equipment, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and stand or kneel for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. Vocational training or manufacturer certifications (Caterpillar, John Deere) preferred.
Schedule & Compensation
Hours: This is a full-time role with an expected schedule of 45-55 hours per week. Overtime is frequent and paid at time-and-a-half rates.
Pay: We offer competitive hourly pay based on your experience, skills, and qualifications, with a strong focus on rewarding technicians who consistently deliver reliable, high-quality work. Compensation typically ranges from $30 to $45 per hour, depending on experience, and will be finalized during the interview process.
