Role Overview
The Sr. Human Factors Design Engineer will apply human performance principles to improve human–machine interfaces for surgical products. This role involves leading usability research, designing user studies, identifying user-related risks, and collaborating closely with design and engineering teams to ensure intuitive, safe, and compliant product designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Human Factors methodologies in the design and evaluation of devices and systems.
- Develop research plans, study protocols, usability tests, and statistical analysis strategies.
- Conduct user studies, including concept evaluations, requirement validation, and usability testing with intended users.
- Identify user-related risks and contribute to risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize system design, workflows, training needs, and human–machine interfaces.
- Analyze Human Factors issues, prepare findings, and implement recommendations.
- Generate reports and documentation aligned with regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to Human Factors best practices.
