Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Provide attentive toddler care and preschool instruction, ensuring each child's individual needs are met with patience and understanding
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong partnerships
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR procedures
- Document child development progress using standardized testing methods and keep detailed records of daily activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods when applicable
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings, including classroom experience with young learners
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and early intervention strategies
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively through classroom management techniques tailored for early childhood environments
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
- Lesson planning that integrates literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and Montessori approaches
- Be willing to obtain certification in first aid and CPR
