Role: Creative Web Designer (Shopify & Squarespace)
Location: Tampa Bay Area, FL (Hybrid preferred)
This position will start as part-time with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.
Grove Brands is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Web Designer who builds visually striking, strategically sound websites in Squarespace and Shopify. This role is for a designer who understands that great websites are equal parts aesthetics, usability, and brand storytelling.
If you have a strong visual point of view, can translate brand strategy into polished digital experiences, and take pride in crafting beautiful, functional sites, we would love to connect.
- Translate client briefs, brand strategy, and creative direction into high-quality website designs.
- Design and build custom websites in Squarespace and Shopify that are visually compelling, intuitive, and on-brand.
- Establish site structure, layout systems, and page hierarchy based on project scope and user flow.
- Apply branded typography, color systems, imagery, and UI elements consistently across each site.
- Design with user experience in mind, balancing clarity, conversion, and aesthetics.
- Prepare, optimize, and manage imagery for performance and visual quality.
- Collaborate with copywriters to thoughtfully lay out content for readability and impact.
- Integrate third-party tools, booking platforms, forms, and apps as needed.
- QA and refine sites prior to launch, ensuring responsiveness, performance, and polish.
- Implement client feedback efficiently and thoughtfully during revision rounds.
- Contribute to broader creative projects when needed, including light branding or visual design support.
- A strong design eye and a portfolio that demonstrates high-quality web design work.
- Proven experience designing and building sites in Squarespace and Shopify.
- Solid understanding of layout, hierarchy, spacing, and responsive design.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS (not required to code from scratch).
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- A thoughtful, proactive approach to problem-solving and feedback.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or Figma.
- UI/UX or conversion-focused design experience.
- Experience with Webflow or advanced Shopify customization.
- SEO awareness or experience designing with search performance in mind.
- Branding or logo design experience.
- Motion, animation, or interactive design skills.
