JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Manager oversees and manages all Quality related functions and quality team members within their site facility. The individual will also be ensuring continued compliance to ISO/IATF regulations/guidelines while developing goals/objectives as continuous improvement efforts that aligns with Group Plastivaloire North America strategy.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate, coordinate, and implement Quality policies and procedures to assure defect-free product which conforms to customer requirements and ISO/IATF standards. Standardized processes for use, updates, and implementation.
  • Maintain all ISO/IATF documentation relating to the Quality Department
  • Manage Quality Department personnel, including scheduling and employee reviews.
  • Ensure all Quality Department personnel have been sufficiently trained.
  • Oversee the requirements of Quality-related equipment needed to conform to customer and ISO/IATF requirements (e.g. gage calibration).
  • Champion a standardized layered process audit program with regularly reviewed results.
  • Manage and participate in the overall APQP Process to ensure customer requirements are reviewed and understood.
  • Manage and participate in the overall Problem-Solving Process.
  • Manage and participate in the overall PPAP Process to ensure a standardized GP-12 / Safe Launch process is implemented and followed, including exit criteria.
  • Participate in the overall Supplier Quality Program Process by creating objectives and measurables.
  • Track and monitor trends in both internal and external non-conformances.
  • Initiate, track and trend other Quality-related measurables (e.g. Roadmaps, cost of quality, etc.).
  • Manage customer relationships, including quality concern response and problem resolution development thus responsible for an on-time responses time.
  • Implement process controls when required; Reduce product measurement when possible.
  • Ensure all active jobs contain updated Inspection Instructions, Control Plans, FMEAs, Prints, and other related documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment while complying with company procedures regarding safety and environmental regulations.

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years of direct experience in a Quality leadership role in plastics manufacturing required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as an ISO/IATF auditor
  • Certified ISO/IATF auditor preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of and ability to use quality techniques/methods such as APQP, PPAP,8D, 5Y, FMEA, MSA, and SPC to diagnose and correct quality issues.
  • Understand of and ability to use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable Federal and State OSHA regulations along with maintaining ISO and IATF requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to communicate articulately and effectively, both oral and verbal, with clients, and at all levels within the PVL organization.

TRAVEL:

  • Open to travel domestically and internationally with valid ID through State and U.S borders.
  • Travel at night/late evening hours outside of U.S borders is strictly prohibited for USA team members.
