structural steel.

Field/Jobsite Environment - Standing, sitting, climbing, crawling, standing, crouching, bending,
pushing/pulling, walking on uneven surfaces, and exposure to loud noises are to be expected
on a jobsite environment. This position is predominately outdoors at an Industrial Construction
Site. Exposure to extreme hot or cold outside temperatures is possible.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time, hourly position. Days and hours of work vary from each jobsite. Occasional
evening/weekend work or travel may be required as job duties demand.

Welder will be responsible to have the following tools
Lays out, fits and welds together metal components such as pipe, boilers, tanks, plates, and
structural steel.
Essential Functions
- Reads and understands layout, blueprints, diagrams, work order and welding
- Plans work in logical sequence and determine tools/equipment needed.
- Lays out, position, aligns, and fits components together.
- Bolts, clamps, and tack welds parts to secure in position for welding.
- Obtains specified electrode and inserts into portable holder or threads electrode wire
- Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as
- Start power supply to produce electric current.
- Strikes arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece
- Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of
sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
- Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions and examines weld for bead
- Manually applies filler rod to supply weld metal.
- Cleans or degrease weld joint or work piece using wire brush, grinder, or chemical bath.
- Chips off excess weld, slag, spatter.
- Preheats work piece using torch or heating furnace.
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Required Education And Experience
- 3 years of field experience as a Class-A Welder
- Must pass a Performance Weld Test (SMAW / GTAW / FCAW)
- Must hold a valid TWIC Card
- Must hold a valid OSHA Basic Plus
- Must be able to pass all Safety Council related courses
- Must undergo Pre-Employment Screening (physical, drug & alcohol screen, audiogram,
