The Electronics & Controls Engineering Technician supports engineering development initiatives through the design, prototyping, testing, and production support of electronic control systems. This role combines hardware development, embedded software programming, and hands-on troubleshooting to support both internal engineering and customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide electrical and electronic troubleshooting support to customers, engineering personnel, and production staff.
- Design, assemble, and test prototype electronic circuit boards and control systems.
- Develop and maintain embedded software used to control electronic devices and systems.
- Build, program, and maintain electronic testing and validation equipment.
- Support transition of prototype designs into production through coordination with external manufacturing vendors.
- Diagnose system performance issues across hardware and software environments.
- Document designs, testing procedures, and operational functionality.
- Assist engineering teams in development and refinement of electro-mechanical control solutions.
The position requires strong practical problem-solving ability and the capability to move projects from concept through functional production implementation. Also requires the ability to handle multiple projects at a time.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in electronics, embedded systems, controls, or related technical fields.
- Demonstrated experience in electronics prototyping, troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Experience writing or maintaining software controlling electronic hardware.
- Strong practical understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Mechanically inclined with strong hands-on fabrication or assembly capability.
- Experience with Arduino-based systems or similar embedded platforms.
- Familiarity with state-machine logic and control architectures.
- Experience supporting electro-mechanical or industrial control systems.
An Engineering or Computer Science degree is welcome; however, demonstrated experience and technical competency are valued above formal education.
