What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing & Outreach Intern (Remote, Unpaid) position at GroundWork?
Groundwork is a student-led nonprofit (Texas Certificate of Formation complete; federal 501(c)(3) determination pending) building hands-on business, entrepreneurship, and AI education for kids in Title I schools and pediatric hospital wards. We run two programs: VentureKits, physical activity kits distributed to schools and hospitals, and the Earning Track, an 8-week mentored program where teens land their first real paid client.
We're looking for a remote intern to help grow our reach — both online and through direct outreach to businesses and funders. This is hands-on experience with a real early-stage nonprofit, working directly with the founders.
What you'll do:
- Create and post content across our LinkedIn and Instagram
- Help plan and maintain a social media content calendar
- Research and identify businesses, foundations, and grant opportunities that fit our mission
- Draft outreach emails and messages to potential sponsors and funders
- Track outreach and follow-ups in an organized way
What we're looking for:
- Interested in marketing, nonprofit work, or fundraising
- Comfortable writing outreach messages and following up
- Organized and able to work independently in a remote setting
- No prior experience required — just genuine interest and reliability
This is an unpaid, fully remote internship. In exchange, you'll get real experience building marketing and fundraising systems for a growing nonprofit, direct mentorship from the founders, and a reference once you've contributed meaningfully.
