Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day (on-call rotation for emergencies)
Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is a national leader in environmental consulting, engineering, and technical field services. We are seeking a Field Services Technician to support operations at a new groundwater remediation plant in Westville, Indiana.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, troubleshooting equipment, and learning how environmental remediation systems operate. Whether you have experience in mechanical trades or you’re a recent graduate in environmental science, geology, or engineering—GES provides the training and support to help you succeed.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work alongside a lead operator and engineering team to run a brand-new, automated remediation system inside a warehouse-style facility. Daily responsibilities include:
Performing daily checks on pumps, piping, filters, and control systems.
Assisting with groundwater extraction and treatment processes.
Maintaining and troubleshooting system components (pumps, valves, piping, carbon filters, UV treatment units).
Conducting water sampling and preparing samples for laboratory analysis.
Monitoring the SCADA system that automates treatment operations.
Performing light facility and equipment maintenance (hand tools, minor repairs, adjustments).
Supporting waste handling and filter press operations.
Providing scheduled on-call support for system alerts or emergencies.
What We’re Looking For
Mechanical skills and comfort with tools – experience in plumbing, HVAC, maintenance, or repair work is a plus.
2 years of experience in water treatment, remediation, or mechanical/maintenance trades preferred — but we welcome recent grads in environmental science, geology, or engineering eager to start their careers.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new systems.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work full-time on-site in Westville, IN.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start in a full-time field role with exposure to environmental remediation systems, and it comes with a minimum one-year field commitment plus opportunities to grow at GES.
